Parameters & performance
The YMIN IDC3 and CW3 series are specially optimized for high-frequency operating conditions of 20–100 kHz. For conventional electrolytic capacitors, the ESR difference between 120 Hz and 120 kHz can reach 3 to 5 times, which is the root cause of runaway heat generation induced by high-frequency ripple. By optimizing electrolyte formulation and electrode foil structure, YMIN greatly reduces ESR across the full frequency range, maintaining ESR at a low level within the practical switching frequency range of SSTs. Detailed ESR-frequency curves, ripple current ratings at 120 kHz, and measured temperature rise data under different case temperatures are fully documented in YMIN’s official datasheets.
Furthermore, the IDC3 series has been adopted in Navitas Semiconductor’s 4.5 kW–12 kW GaN server power supply solutions. Its high-frequency compatibility has been verified through real-world testing in leading reference designs. We recommend engineers obtain the complete datasheet at the component selection stage and perform temperature rise re-testing under actual operating conditions; this serves as the most reliable design basis.
